I finally made it up Pikes Peak and it was everything I thought it would be.
The Mile Marker 7 is where the Hillclimb starts(I think) and those skid marks were about 500 feet after. Rookies. Didn’t see many others the rest of the way up the mountain with the exception of the switchbacks and those looks to be from oversteer.
Look at all that turning goodness. Still couldn’t get the 300s to step out. Very surprised at how good it was.
Start of Pikes Peak Hillclimb
Ouch
Ouch again.
Thanks Mr 300s

Watch out for the bike tours... they will make you ride your brakes all the way down.

How you like that 300S?

I’m going to make a full post in the airport on the way back but for now... delightfully surprised.

Did you have to stop on the way down at that station & let your brakes cool?

They had a stop station where I stopped for a few minutes but the I wasn’t too worried. There were bikes(scourge of the earth) making me ride my brakes down but once I was past it was just first and second gear.

Did you see the infamous Bigfoot crossing sign

But what was your time?

How’s the temperature up top this time of year? I rode the Cog Railway up in November ‘11, and the wind chill up top was -40F.

It was about 50 according to the 300s. I was perfectly comfortable in shorts and a light pullover.

Slow. I was doing fine until I got stuck behind a Suburban and then finally got past him just to find myself behind a Chevy 3500....

I should take the Lancer up this in honor of all its faster Lancer brethren.
(but not fall off the mountain, because no)

IF the Chrysler 300s with a pentastar V6 can get up the mountain with some tire squeal and not fall off... so can the lancer.
